William Behnken. N.A. is a life-long resident of New York City. His first studies were at the High School of Music and Art, and he earned both the BFA and MFA degrees from the City College of New York, where he has taught since 1970; since 1998 he has also been teaching printmaking at the Art Students League. Elected to the National Academy of Design and the Society of American Printmakers, Behnken’s work is included in the permanent collection of numerous museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the British Museum, the Fitzwilliam Museum, the New York Public Library Print Collection, the New York Historical Society, and the Indianapolis Museum. Recently Behnken received two prestigious awards, one at American Graphic Artists 81st Members Exhibition in 2014 and the second at the Society of American Graphic Artists Centennial Exhibition in 2015 oldprintshop.com
